KULTURE : CATALIN OLTEANU'S STREET HIJACK

Peintures murales et graffitis, pochoirs et affiches, autocollants dans le métro et tags sur les murs des tunnels, etc. Aussi loin qu'on se rappelle, les rues de nos villes et les murs de nos immeubles ont été un incroyable médium pour l'art. Cette fois encore, l'art s'est frayé un chemin hors des galeries, avec cette exposition improvisée du travail de notre ami Catalin Olteanu !

Painted walls and graffiti, stencils and posters, stickers in the subway and tags on its tunnels, etc. For the longest time, the streets of our cities and the walls of our buildings have offered an incredible medium for art. This time again, art found a way to break through, with this improvised exhibition of our friend Catalin Olteanu's work !

En plus de son travail de photographe freelance, Catalin "Sharky" Olteanu est un homme aux multiples passions. Sans conteste le plus grand séducteur de Roumanie, Sharky est aussi un DJ en herbe qui, quand il n'est pas aux manettes de ses différents projets, passe le plus clair de son temps à rouler dans les rues de Bucarest, en patins à roulettes comme à vélo.

Besides his work as a freelance photographer, Catalin "Sharky" Olteanu is a man of many passions. Arguably the most handsome young man in Romania, Sharky is also an aspiring DJ, busy with many projects when he's not riding his bike or blades through the streets of Bucharest.

Cette fois, il a pris d'assaut un magasin vide situé à quelques mètres de son appartement, et a placardé sur la vitrine quelques uns de ses travaux photographiques pour prendre par surprise les passants. Il a ensuite filmé le tout et capturé les réactions de ses « victimes ». A voir juste en dessous, ainsi que plusieurs des travaux exposés ce jour-là !

This time, he took advantage of a vacant store located right down the street from his own place, and put some of his printed photographs up on the store's front window to expose his work to an unprepared audience. He then managed to film it all on tape, and captured the reactions of his « victims », which you can watch right below, as well as some more of Sharky's work !
