Avant toute chose, j’aimerais remercier Kevin “KangoO” Duverger de nous avoir convaincu, Rémy et moi, de regarder le film Harold and Kumar go to White Castle un soir à Dunkerque. Dommage que nous n’ayons eu ni alcool, ni herbe pour rendre le film plus amusant, mais ce fut la première fois que j’entendis parler des fameux hamburgers carrés, cuisinés par la fameuse compagnie basée dans le Midwest américain.

First of all, I will have to thank Kevin “KangoO” Duverger for convincing Remy and myself to watch the movie Harold and Kumar go to White Castle one night in Dunkerque. Too bad we didn’t have any weed or booze to make the movie a little bit funnier, but it was the first time I ever heard of the famous square burgers from that Midwest based fast food joint.

C’est un sentiment étrange que d’écrire cet article sur la 5ème edition du RISC (Rouen Indoor Street Contest), puisque j’étais au même moment à 10 000 km de là. Etrange, non pas parce que je ne saurais pas quoi dire ou bien ce qui s’est passé durant ce (toujours) incroyable week-end, mais simplement parce que je regrette de n’avoir pas été là. Et je regrette bien sûr de n’avoir pas pu partager tous ces moments incroyables, moments qui ont fait de ce contest un succès inoubliable, avec mes amis pour la cinquième année consecutive.

It feels weird writing this article on the 5th edition of the RISC (Rouen Indoor Street Contest), because I was actually 10.000 km away during the contest. Weird, not because I don’t know what to say or what happened during this (always) incredible week-end, but simply because I regret not being there. And I sure regret not being able to share all the amazing moments, moments that made this contest so successful and memorable, with my friends for the 5th year in a row.

Voyager à ses avantages. Découvrir de nouvelles cultures, et par conséquent de nouvelles cuisines, en fait certainement partie. De nombreux films ont utilisé New York comme un matériau à part, et l‘aspect culinaire transparaît dans nombre de ces films. Ainsi, passant quelques jours a New York, je n’avais d’autre choix que d’en faire à mon tour l’expérience.

Traveling the world has its perks. Experiencing different cultures, and therefore, different type of food, is definitely part of it. Many movies have used New York City as a material of its own, and the food aspect was certainly featured in more than one of these movies. So while spending a few days in that incredible city, I had no choice but to experience it for myself.
