MONTAGE : SOME MEMORIES FROM ROUEN

J'ai grandi dans le patin à roulettes avec le contest de Rouen (RISC) pour rythmer ma vie. Chaque année voyait ses changements, ses nouvelles rencontres, et l'atmosphère elle-même a évolué alors que je prenais de l'âge. Et bien, après 5 années de succès, on ne verra pas de RISC en 2009, perdant ainsi ce rythme si cher.
I grew up in skating with the contest of Rouen (RISC) impulsing its rhythm to my life. Every year would see its changes, its new friends, and even the change of atmosphere as I got older. Well, after 5 successful events, 2009 will lack a RISC contest for the first time.
Etant le premier gros contest français de l'année, Rouen devint une habitude. Le park était chaque année plus rempli, et quoi qu'il arrive, je savais que je ferais partie de la fête. Des actions folles prenaient place dans des hôtels dévastés, et des tricks chaque année plus fous démolissaient le park. Pour la première fois depuis 2004, hélas, on va devoir prendre un repos forcé, et c'est comme si d'un seul coup je perdais le rythme. Profitons-en pour nous rappeler les bons moments, et apprécier cet "edit souvenir" préparé par "Bodchoy" . Ci-dessous, le communiqué officiel des organisateurs.
As the first big French contest of the year, Rouen became an habit. The park would be crowded every year a little more, and no matter what, I knew I would be there. Crazy antics would take place in devastated hotel rooms, and some insane hammers would be dropped in the park, every year. For the first time since 2004 though, we'll have to take a break, and it feels like my heart will just miss a beat. At least we can take some time to reminisce the good moments, and enjoy the "souvenir edit" put together by "Bodchoy" . Feel free to read more directly from the organizers also.

Le RISC 6ème du nom !!! Et bien non, pas cette année !
L'association VRS avait décidé de proposer à l'association du skatepark de Rouen une formule intermédiaire pour cette année, afin de repartir sur de meilleures bases pour, qui sait, 5 années supplémentaires !!!La formule était celle-ci :
-Session ouverte à tous (1euro symbolique d'entrée avait été évoqué) du samedi matin au soir en finissant sur remise de « Price-Money » pour le best trick de la journée.
-Samedi soir : soirée tous ensemble
-Dimanche : Suivant la météo, une session Street ou Park.
Et bien non ! Figurez vous qu'après avoir essayé toutes les négociations possibles, après avoir proposé compromis sur compromis, l'association du skatepark de Rouen REFUSE. Pour quel motif ? D'après eux le RISC « coûte trop cher en bois » (replaquage du bowl surtout). Quand j'entends ça de la part d'un skatepark municipal, les bras m'en tombent !!! Je ne partirais pas dans les explications qui pour vous (simples et heureux skaters) paraîtraient aberrantes. Pour conclure, tout le Staff VRS est au regret de vous annoncer que le RISC 09 n'aura pas lieu mais nous vous donnons rendez-vous pour le RISC 2010 ! Parce que y'a pas moyen qu'on cale l'affaire !!!!!!!!

The 6th RISC of the name!!! And... no, not this year! The VRS association had decided to propose the skatepark of Rouen association an intermediate formula for this year, to restart on better bases for, who knows, another 5 years !!! The formula was this one:
- session opened to all (1euro entrance fee had been evoked) from Saturday morning to the evening, finishing with a Prize-Money for the best trick of the day.
- Saturday evening: huge party all together
- Sunday: according to the weather report, a Street or Park session.
And the final answer is NO! Mind you that having tried all the possible negotiations, having proposed compromise on compromise, the skatepark of Rouen association REFUSES. For what reason? According to them the RISC "would be too expensive in wood " (especially for the bowl). When I hear that on behalf of a municipal skatepark, my mouth drops !!! I will not go on with the explanations which, for you (simple and happy skaters) would seem way too absurd. In conclusion, all the VRS Staff regrets to announce that the RISC 09 will not take place, but we'll see you for another RISC in 2010! Because we can't give up that shit!!!!!
