KULTURE : ARCENA & SALAMECH COLLABORATION SHIRT

C'est devenu une pratique assez habituelle dans le monde du vêtement que de voir des marques connues s'associer avec des artistes reconnus pour apporter quelque chose de frais et de neuf, et ajouter un peu de piquant. Le monde du patin ne fait pas figure d'exception, et cette fois-ci c'est la marque Arcena qui a travaillé avec Salamech, local Montpellierain, activiste du JFC, artiste mural et organisateur de l'ESA, pour vous proposer un tee-shirt pour l'événement.

It has become quite a common habit in the fashion world to see established brands working in collaboration with renowned artists in order to come up with something fresh and new, adding some extra flavor to the usual clothes. Well, rollerblading is no exception really, and this time French brand Arcena worked together with Montpellier's local, JFC activist, graffiti artist and ESA organizer Salamech to bring you a special tee-shirt for the event.

Âgé de 26 ans, alors attiré par sa passion du roller et son intérêt pour les cultures urbaines, Salamech a commencé à peindre dans tous les coins il y a maintenant dix ans. S'attaquant plus particulièrement aux trains, il en a cartonné plus de 500 avant de se « retirer », s'impliquant désormais dans des activités plus légales en tant que graphiste, et en organisant des événements autour de Montpellier avec le collectif motivé du JFC.

The 26 years old Salamech started doing graffiti work all over the place just about 10 years ago, drawn to it by his interest in urban cultures and his passion for inline blading. Focusing mostly on trains, he did over 500 of them before « retiring » and engaging in more legal activities as a graphic designer, as well as putting together events in Montpellier and pushing the blade scene with the JFC collective.

Puisque la marque Arcena a toujours développé une approche artistique du patin, avec des racines dans le street art ou bien la musique, cette collaboration avec Salamech semblait ainsi une étape évidente. En tant que sponsor du street contest de l'ESA (la 7ème édition a lieu le 4 Juin, si vous ne l'avez pas déjà lu ci-dessous), Arcena est allé un peu plus loin en produisant exclusivement ce tee-shirt pour l'occasion.

As Arcena has always had strong roots not only in blading, but also in street art, music and other cultural aspects, this collaboration with Salamech seemed like a logical step, too. As a proud supporter of the ESA street comp (the 7th edition is taking place on the 4th of June, read below if you haven't already), Arcena took it up one notch and produced this sweet tee-shirt for the occasion.

Ils en dévoilent un peu plus sur le processus créatif, et l'energie qui entoure un tel projet. La passion et la motivation sont les éléments clés qui permettent au patin à roulettes de continuer d'avancer. Arcena & Salamech en débordent, poussant eux-mêmes le patin de toute leur énergie passionnée !

Passion and motivation are the key elements that are pushing blading forward today still, and both Arcena & Salamech are living with this passion and motivation, and pushing blading as far as they can !
